My current research is  on the environmental transactions that occur in public urban school buildings in different physical conditions (new vs. old). I am interested in learning about how these conditions contribute -or not- to academic achievement. Issues of social justice are of particular interest to me as buildings in poor condition -mostly attended by low income students of color- are likely to reproduce the very conditions they were created to improve.
